This semester, DPE is partnering with DC SAFE, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing shelter, support, and crisis intervention resources to those facing domestic violence in Washington, D.C. Their shelter program, established in 2023, is the only one of its kind in D.C. that can make 24/7 immediate placements for survivors and families within an hour of a domestic violence incident. 

In September and early October, sisters came together to make Halloween decorations and candy bags for DC SAFE. Just last week, Demi, our Community Service Chair, coordinated a trip for several sisters to help set up these Halloween decorations and treats at the center itself! Shoutout to Bella, Marium, Clara, Anahita, and Carolyn for participating in such an amazing event. Through her efforts, Demi also successfully raised nearly $2300 worth of goods for the shelter. Way to go!
